Mrs. Eskew received her B.A. in
journalism in 1989 from the University of Arkansas with an
emphasis in advertising/marketing. Prior to joining the
University of Arkansas staff in 1998, Eskew was the
Assistant Advertising Manager of Harps Food Stores, Inc.,
for nine years.
In November of 1999, Eskew became
the Communication Specialist for the Center of Excellence
for Poultry Science and is a member of the Communication
Services Unit of Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and
Life Sciences and the Division of Agriculture. In June 2007, Eskew's status changed from full-time to hourly employment but she continues working on the following projects: writing new releases,
photographing events and editing and designing various
publications such as the Center of Excellence's Annual
Report, the faculty brochure, Partners newsletter,
and the Avian Advice newsletter. Eskew is also
responsible for maintaining the poultry science web site,
the DNA Resource Center web site, the Central Analytical Laboratory web site
and other web sites as they relate to the Center.
Eskew serves on the Poultry Science
Youth Conference Committee, the Poultry Science
Scholarship Golf Tournament Committee and helps organize special events as needed.
AWARDS & HONORS
2007
Eskew received First Place for her t-shirt design "Avian Idol" from the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association (NAADA). She also received First Place for the Poultry Science Youth Conference Event, which she shares with Dr. Jason Emmert and Gary Davis. Finally, she received Second Place for her departmental newsletter "Partners."
2006
Eskew received a Silver Award for the department's centennial display from the Association of Communications Excellence (ACE) during their annual meeting in Canada in May 2006. Eskew received first place for the Partners Newsletter and two third place awards for the Annual Report "Having the pieces in place to succeed" and the Poultry Science 10th Anniversary Celebration event from the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association (NAADA) in July of 2006.
2005
Eskew received special recognition for her service as a staff member from Chancellor John White during his fall State-of-the-University address. Eskew received a Silver Award for the department's interactive recruitment CD from the Association of Communications Excellence (ACE) during their annual meeting in San Antonio in May 2005.
Eskew also received two first place awards and one second place award from NAADA in July of 2005 for the following: First Place for her Poultry Science Web Site; First Place for her Annual Report "Something to Crow About"and Second Place for her newsletter "Avian Advice." Eskew was also part of a team that received First Place for the Bumpers College Centennial.
Eskew received recognition and plaque at the Bumpers College Faculty meeting in May 2005. Recognition was for the number of national awards received fulfilling her job duties as Communication Specialist for the Center of Excellence for Poultry Science.
2004
Eskew received two first place awards from NAADA for her scholarship golf tournament brochure and flyer and for the new Interactive Recruitment CD. She also took third place from NAADA for her annual report "Setting our Sights Beyond the Horizon."
2003
Eskew took first place from NAADA for her Annual Report "Making a Global Impact."
2002
Eskew was awarded second place for her work on the Partners Newsletter and second place for the category Development Projects - Donor Event Materials (single piece) from NAADA.
2001
Eskew was awarded first place for her design work on the poultry
science scholarship golf brochure by the NAADA organization.
