DR. L. DAVID ANDREWS Poultry Production

Dr. Andrew's research has been in the areas of broiler breeders and broilers. Different feeding methods and management practices have been carried out to maximize the production parameters of each. Since retirement, Dr. Andrews has been involved with student activities. He helps coordinate the students' trip to the Southeastern Poultry Convention in Atlanta, Georgia. He has conducted the poultry judging activity at the Arkansas-Oklahoma Fair in Fort Smith, has been a judge in the National FFA Poultry Judging Contest at the National Convention in Kansas City, has conducted District FFA poultry judging contests in Russellville, Arkansas, and Miami and Wilburton, Oklahoma, and has helped with the Arkansas FFA State Poultry Judging Contest. He produced a video of a National FFA Poultry Judging Contest, which has been used by over 75 FFA Chapters to help them compete in the State Poultry Judging Contests. Dr. Andrews still acts as an instructor for the Independent Study Division by grading the correspondence course in Principles of Genetics.
